In the early part of the century a charismatic leader rose to power in a powerful country. He promised to rebuild what had been lost, to bring employment and prosperity to all, and to rid the nation of the outsider, labeling them as degenerate. Critics were declared liars, and anyone who opposed him was denounced and removed from position. His words were grandiose, redefining wrong to right, and attempting to turn the false into reality. He sowed division and distrust in the population, inspiring believers to commit violent retributions against those he targeted, sometimes on a mass scale. Towards the end of his reign, his policies lead to an entire segment of the population being decimated. Eventually the forces against him triumphed, and the full extent of his crimes was only then understood.
